Three UCPD officers were treated for minor injuries after arresting a man inside the UCLA Anderson School of Management on Tuesday.

Police responded to a community service officer’s report of a man refusing to leave the building around 12:45 p.m., said Scott Scheffler, the captain of UCPD’s operations and administrative bureaus, in an emailed statement. Scheffler added that the man bit, spat at and attempted to strike the responding officers – but said he did not have information when asked how UCPD was able to eventually remove him from the premises.

About five police vehicles were parked outside Marion Anderson Hall around 1:15 p.m. Multiple people who were inside or near the building around the time declined to comment.

The man – who was not affiliated with UCLA – was evaluated at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Emergency Department for pain after his arrest, Scheffler said in the statement. Officers were also treated for minor injuries at the emergency department.

“Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the UCLA Police Department Detective Unit at 310-825-3197,” he added.
