Death, typically a somber topic, is something that is celebrated among the Mexican community with vibrant colors, music, food and photos to honor those who have died. Gloria Molina Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles welcomed its 12th annual Día de los Muertos community exhibition from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2. The event included 19 unique altars centered on the theme “Let Freedom Ring: Honoring Our Immigrant Ancestors” and concluded with a closing ceremony filled with performances, arts and crafts.
