More than 200 demonstrators – many of whom wore green AFSCME Local 3299 shirts and carried “AFSCME 3299 On Strike” signs – marched from Bruin Plaza toward the Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center, where the UC Board of Regents meets Tuesday, at about 10 a.m.

They marched directly past a “do not enter” sign, ignoring a one-way system that had been set up around the conference center. The sign was no longer present minutes later, as dozens of UCPD officers – some of whom were carrying wooden batons – watched.
