Tens of thousands of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299 members struck across the UC system Nov. 17 and 18. With the rhythm of drums matching the rain, hundreds of UC employees striking at UCLA impacted medical facilities and custodial services and left many UCLA dining halls temporarily closed. The second day of the strike aligned with the arrival of the UC Board of Regents, sparking demonstrations along the Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center.
