Crimewatch: November 2025



UCPD recorded 601 unique entries in its Nov. 1 to Nov. 30 daily crime log.

The department received 101 crime reports from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30 that resulted in active police cases. Of the 101 reports resulting in cases, 64 were open cases and 37 were closed or inactive as of Dec. 2, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.

Theft and burglary was the most common category, with 33 reports resulting in cases, followed by 11 reports involving drugs and controlled substances, according to the log.

UCPD also recorded 500 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of Dec. 2:

Report taken: 77

Information only: 43

Non-criminal matter: 76

Warned or advised: 31

Canceled (by any party): 37

Victim not desirous of report: 21

Referred to outside agency: 36

Unable to locate: 40

Field interviewed: 6

Courtesy report: 5

Citation issued: 4

Unfounded: 2

Four of the 500 incidents not resulting in cases were categorized as sex crimes. UCPD categorized one event as a sexual battery report and three as indecent exposure reports.

Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
