Daniela Andrade is an ode to independent artistry on the “Oda Tour.”

The Honduran-Canadian singer-songwriter returned to Los Angeles after nearly a decade for a performance at the El Rey Theatre on Friday. Andrade first gained an audience by sharing cover songs online as a teenager. Her cover of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” featured in the Season 2 premiere of Netflix’s “Umbrella Academy” and became one of the most-downloaded songs on iTunes.

Andrade released her debut album, “Oda,” in March. The 14-track project is a bilingual blend of intimate poeticism and soft-spoken candor set to an R&B and alternative sound. In addition to her role as headliner, Andrade serves as the creative director for both her album and ongoing international “Oda Tour.”

Cobo Cordon was the 2025-26 PRIME director and Photo staff. She was also Arts senior staff, a News, Outreach and Video contributor and was previously the 2023-24 music | fine arts editor. She was a fourth-year materials engineering student from northern Virginia.
