Gallery: Savannah Bananas somersault into Autzen Stadium, serving sold-out spectacle in Eugene

In the most widely broadcasted Banana Ball games to date – and the furthest from their Georgia origins – the Savannah Bananas and Party Animals sold out the University of Oregon’s 60,000-seat Autzen Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.

The Savannah Bananas was established in 2016 and played in the collegiate baseball summer wood-bat Coastal Plain League until 2022. The franchise then transitioned to play Banana Ball, a take on baseball that includes a flurry of rules and attractions, a two-hour time limit, choreographed dance breaks and a healthy dose of backflips and somersaults.
