Anyone who loves Buzz Lightyear’s signature line, “To Infinity and Beyond!,” can thank Pete Docter, who contributed “and beyond” to the now-iconic phrase. On Wednesday, Docter gave a guest lecture in a UCLA film class about the animation production process, particularly through the lens of his new film “Inside Out.” Docter has worked at Pixar since 1990, when it was a small company with no major pictures. UCLA, USC to collaborate for sixth ‘Transforming Hollywood’ conference

This will be the sixth year that two rival film schools – UCLA and USC – have come together to discuss the evolving entertainment industry. The annual “Transforming Hollywood” conference was co-founded by Denise Mann, head of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television’s Producers Program, and Henry Jenkins, the provost’s professor of communication, journalism and cinematic arts at USC.
