826LA’s journaling workshop educates on mental health, empowers youth creativity

At the event presented by 826LA, a nonprofit that aims to teach children ages six to 18 creative writing skills, students played a game to learn coping strategies, drew their dream gardens and wrote about their safe and happy places through guided prompts. Sheng Chang weaves authenticity, vulnerability into capstone EP ‘Feel It All’

Waverly Wang channels emotional bonds, musicality in animated short ‘Party Boy’

Wang, a graduate student with a master of fine arts degree in animation, is preparing to take center stage at the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival on May 10 with her animated short, “Party Boy.” Centered on a performance of the Christmas ballet, “The Nutcracker,” the story follows a young boy who, in the throes of anxiety, uses familial love to gather his courage and step into the spotlight.
