Maid Cafe event serves up immersive, social experience in Japanese culture

Members of UCLA’s Japanese Animation Club adorned themselves in classic maid and butler costumes with accessories like bunny ears to create a fairy tale-themed event. First-year duo wins Spring Sing 2018 top prize, two other awards

First-year students Hayden Everett’s and Caroline Pernick’s late-night jam sessions in Hedrick Hall paid off Friday night in their first Spring Sing performance. The duet received the Northern California Alumni Grand Sweepstakes Award, Spring Sing’s top prize, along with the award for Best Duet and the Bruin Choice Award. Read more...

UCLA Taara brings light to domestic abuse issues through South Asian dance

Third-year psychobiology student Devika Chandramohan said many people tend to associate South Asian culture with Bollywood movies and Indian food.
