UCLA Juneteenth celebration honors Black history through music, dance, spoken word

Mehr Juneja is bringing new representation to the world of standup comedy

Through labor and laughter, Mehr Juneja is redefining representation in comedy. Recent alumnus Juneja is a self-made comedian and the producer and co-founder of the Los Angeles based comedy show “Imposter Syndrome.” Juneja said “Imposter Syndrome” seeks to highlight historically underrepresented voices and those whose identities are often used as targets in comedic spaces. Punjabi culture takes center stage at annual Bruin Bhangra dance competition

New student-created musical ‘DayDreamer’ fuses fantasy and Mexican culture

Filled with magic and Mexican culture, “DayDreamer” burns bright. The musical, which will be performed as a stage reading at Macgowan Hall from May 24 through May 26, delivers a Mexican-inspired fantasy that tells the story of a teenage protagonist with fire powers who ventures on a quest to find her missing mother and defeat an ancient evil who has stolen the sun.
