UCLA graduate students named 2023-2024 This is Public Health ambassadors

Two graduate students from the Fielding School of Public Health will serve as ambassadors in This is Public Health’s 2023-2024 cohort. Sarah Stigers and Lauren Morales, both of whom are graduate students in public health, were among 82 ambassadors selected in July from around the world, according to the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health. UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry names 2 new teacher-scholars

The UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is bringing in two new teacher-scholars this academic year while saying goodbye to two former scholars. The two new scholars, Rajat Maji and Chau Ngo, joined the program in July. Read more...

Michael Waterstone begins term as new dean of UCLA School of Law

Michael Waterstone took over as the UCLA School of Law dean Aug. 1, the university announced Tuesday. Waterstone was previously the dean of Loyola Marymount University Loyola Law School, where he was a faculty member for 17 years, the announcement said. Read more...

University announces new GPA requirement for Dean’s Honors

Students will now need to receive at least a 3.915 grade-point average to earn Dean’s Honors for a quarter, the university announced Friday. The GPA criteria for Dean’s Honors is subject to change every academic year, according to the UCLA Catalog website. Read more...
