USAC calls for resignation of LA city council members caught on racist recording

The Undergraduate Students Association Council passed a resolution Oct. 18 calling on multiple Los Angeles city council members to resign. Council president Nury Martinez and councilmembers Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo made racist and homophobic remarks about other council members, LA District Attorney George Gascón and the child of a council member in a leaked recording, according to the LA Times. UC sustainability committee aims to promote inclusivity with climate response plan

The University of California sustainability committee released a new landscape plan in September to promote sustainability, inclusivity and climate resilience. UCLA holds cross-campus Hispanic serving institution forum

UCLA activists work to expand access to rape test kit services

UCLA student activists and leaders are working to improve care for survivors of sexual violence by improving access to rape test kits. This fall, IGNITE at UCLA, a student organization dedicated to reproductive justice advocacy, started a petition calling on UCLA to offer free rape test kit services at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
