‘Spotted on Bruinwalk’ to return after three-year hiatus, this time run by USAC CEC

A student government office is reviving a forum for students to submit missed connections and interesting sightings around campus. Spotted on Bruinwalk, through which students were formerly able to report things observed on campus, will be revived by the Undergraduate Students Association Council Campus Events Commission after a three-year hiatus. UCLA receives sustainability award for LEED Platinum-rated training facilities

UCLA earned an award for the sustainable design of its athletics facilities from the Los Angeles chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. USGBC LA gave UCLA the award because both the Wasserman Football Center and Mo Ostin Basketball Center had obtained Leadership in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum certification, the highest rating awarded to green buildings. UCLA Housing experiences shortage of Access Control personnel

UCLA Housing officials reported a shortage of dorm security officers, but assured students safety is not compromised. Housing Access Control, the UCLA Housing unit that monitors security on the Hill, had to fill 35 out of 75 staff positions since the start of the quarter, said Junji Toshima, the assistant director in Housing & Hospitality Services’ Safety & Emergency Preparedness. New club aims to encourage creativity, cathartic expression through slam poetry

A new campus organization focused on literary creativity is building a safe space for students to express themselves through writing and performance. SLAM uniVERSE, founded fall 2018 by UCLA students Justine Ramos, Maria Zamarripa and Alexandro Guerrero, is a slam poetry club that aims to teach UCLA students about the benefits of creative literary expression.
