Community members are concerned that trees are lifting up sidewalks in Westwood. As early as January 2013, 18 trees along Westwood Boulevard, Kinross Avenue and other areas around the city will be removed and replaced.

The number of applicants to the Masters of Business Administration program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management are up, despite a trend of fewer applications to MBA programs nationally. The Anderson school has recently seen a 22.3 percent increase in its application rates, which officials attribute to revamped recruiting practices, said Rob Weiler, associate dean of the full-time MBA program at Anderson. “We Run the City,” a 5K race between UCLA and USC students that was held for the first time this year, started out in Wilson Plaza Sunday morning. The rivalry run, which raises money for Special Olympics Southern California, will be held on both campuses alternatively until the 2015 Special Olympics.
