UCLA accounting lecturer files lawsuit against dean and UC Board of Regents
UCLA lecturer Gordon Klein filed a lawsuit Monday against the dean of the UCLA Anderson School of Management and University of California Board of Regents. The lawsuit against Dean Antonio Bernardo and the UC Regents alleged the university’s conduct breached his employment contract, violated his right to privacy and amounted to retaliatory discrimination. Judge denies 2nd motion to dismiss James Heaps’ sexual assault indictment
A second court motion to dismiss a sexual assault indictment against former UCLA OB-GYN James Heaps was denied Sept. 17. Heaps, a former David Geffen School of Medicine faculty member and OB-GYN at UCLA Health, was indicted in late May by a grand jury on 21 counts of felony sexual assault. Read more...

UCPD searches for suspect reportedly involved in off-campus hot prowl burglary
University police are looking for a suspect reportedly involved in an off-campus hot prowl burglary early Friday morning. The incident occurred in an apartment at the 11000 block of Strathmore Drive around 4:05 a.m., according to a UCPD crime alert sent Friday. The suspect reportedly touched a sleeping resident’s “intimate body part” and fled out of the apartment’s rear entrance, according to the crime alert. UCPD described the suspect as a white man around 25 years old with brown hair, a short beard and mustache. Read more...
