UC denies allegations in students’ sexual assault lawsuit

The University of California Board of Regents issued a response Monday denying allegations that officials inadequately responded to two UCLA graduate students’ sexual assault complaints. Nefertiti Takla and Kristen Glasgow, both graduate students in history, alleged in a federal lawsuit in June that UCLA officials discouraged them from filing a formal report after they reported history professor Gabriel Piterberg sexually assaulted them. One of two men charged with murder of UCLA student may face death penalty

One of the men arrested in connection with the death of UCLA student Andrea “Andy” DelVesco may face the death penalty, according to prosecutors. The Los Angeles Police Department arrested Eric Marquez, a fifth-year biology student, and Alberto Medina, both 22, over the weekend after forensic evidence and witness statements linked the two to a suspected homicide and arson. UCLA football loses CB Fabian Moreau to injury, reinstates Ishmael Adams

UCLA’s defensive secondary lost a key piece on Tuesday, but gained one back as well. Coach Jim Mora announced Tuesday morning that senior and starting cornerback Fabian Moreau will miss the rest of the season because of a lisfranc injury, and he also said that redshirt junior cornerback Ishmael Adams has been reinstated to the team after serving nearly a monthlong suspension. Ishmael Adams will not face felony charges for alleged robbery

UCLA redshirt junior cornerback Ishmael Adams will not face felony charges following his arrest for allegedly attempting to steal from an Uber driver last month. County prosecutors did not find enough evidence to file felony charges and passed the case to city prosecutors to evaluate potential misdemeanor charges, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
