Students, faculty express concern over proposed federal budget cuts

Several UCLA students and administrators said they are concerned with President Donald Trump’s budget request for federal funding for higher education. The proposed budget request would cut the Department of Education’s discretionary spending by $9.2 billion or 13.5 percent, impacting student aid and financial loans as well as research grants.
