Napolitano, Californian college leaders urge Pell Grant legislation

Congress is running out of time to pass legislation that would expand the federal government’s largest financial aid program. The House and the Senate have until Friday to pass a funding proposal to restore year-round Pell Grants to help students cover the cost of summer classes. Read more...

Bruin Shelter fundraises to continue providing for homeless students

Bruin Shelter is raising $20,000 to continue operating, in a campaign called “Race for 20K.” The shelter, which opened in October, houses homeless college students in the West Los Angeles area. Read more...

Westwood officials rev up to increase parking opportunities

Westwood officials are discussing increasing parking opportunities in Westwood Village. The Westwood Village Improvement Association’s Parking, Access and Transportation Committee plans to take over maintenance of the Broxton Avenue public parking garage, advertise private parking spaces and implement a districtwide valet service. UC makes statement on enforcement of immigration laws in wake of election
