Westwood Neighborhood Council extends term length from two to four years

It may be difficult for UCLA students to serve a full term on the Westwood Neighborhood Council after its next election in 2018. The council voted eight to seven to extend its two-year terms on council to four years at its Wednesday meeting. Read more...

Passionate linguistics professor, marathon runner dies at 75

Every time Russell Schuh ran the Los Angeles marathon, he wore the same shirt from the UCLA linguistics department and red high school shorts. They were falling apart and full of holes, but he considered them his lucky running clothes, said Gretchen Kelly, his daughter. Read more...

Doner kebab restaurant SpireWorks to open in Westwood

A new doner kebab restaurant featuring international flavors will open its doors in Westwood on Wednesday. Bob Kaufman, founder and chief executive officer of SpireWorks, said his travels to Turkey, where doner kebabs originated, inspired him to open a restaurant in the United States. Read more...
