UCLA settles lawsuit with graduate students alleging Title IX violations
UCLA settled a lawsuit Thursday that was filed by two graduate students who claimed they were sexually harassed by professor Gabriel Piterberg. According to a UCLA statement, the UC Board of Regents agreed to pay one student $350,000 and the other student $110,000. Read more...

UCLA plans to host debate between Senate candidates Sanchez and Harris
UCLA plans to host a U.S. Senate debate between candidates Rep. Loretta Sanchez and California Attorney General Kamala Harris at Royce Hall on Oct. 14. Sanchez, a Democrat from Orange County, accepted the debate offer after she met with students and faculty Tuesday morning to discuss her goals for education as senator, said Rafi Sands, undergraduate student government external vice president. Student’s internship gives a behind-the-scenes view of the White House
Heading to work on the first day of her internship, Kendall Schreiberg found herself in a line of people in suits and ties. The environment was intimidating and made her wonder, “What am I doing walking into the White House?” Schreiberg, a fourth-year political science student, was on her way to her internship program in the Office of Presidential Correspondence, which communicates with people who have written to the president. LGBT Campus Resource Center now offers free pads and tampons
The LGBT Campus Resource Center added pads and tampons to its selection of free products for students, which includes condoms and dental dams. The center partnered with the Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center in early August to provide the pads and tampons, said Raja Bhattar, the center’s director, in an email statement. Read more...
