Academic Senate report finds UCLA generates $400 million annual budget deficit

UCLA is generating a nearly $400 million annual structural budget deficit, according to a Jan. 29 Academic Senate preliminary report. The report – created by the Academic Senate’s Council on Planning and Budget – said data provided by UCLA administrators showed that the university is projected to run a combined $829.7 million deficit across the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years if it has not taken and does not take any corrective action. Car crashes into 99 Ranch Market, killing at least 3 people, injuring at least 6

This post was updated March 2 at 4:45 p.m. A car crashed into the 99 Ranch Market on Westwood Boulevard on Thursday, killing three people and injuring at least six.  Two blocks of Westwood Boulevard – from Wilkins Avenue to Wellworth Avenue – were completely blocked off as of 1:50 p.m., along with the intersecting block of Rochester Avenue. LA County Sheriffs yet to ban license plate data sharing with federal agencies
