A man entered a UCLA student apartment Saturday evening after climbing onto the second-floor balcony, university police said. The student inside saw the man shine a flashlight into her room at the Keystone/Mentone Apartments about 4 miles southeast of campus before he entered about 9:45 p.m., according to a UCPD statement. UCLA faculty in the College of Letters and Science approved a diversity requirement proposal Friday afternoon. In a 332-303 vote, faculty decided to support the requirement, which would have students take a course about inequalities based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and religion, among other factors. The University of California signed an agreement Thursday with the Mexican Secretariat of Energy, or SENER to increase collaboration on research related to sustainability issues. “This is just the beginning of a collaboration that will benefit California and Mexico,” UC President Janet Napolitano said in a press release Thursday.
