New UC vice president of laboratory management announced
National and global security scientist Kim Budil will be the University of California’s new vice president for laboratory management, the UC announced on Tuesday. She will replace current vice president Glenn Mara, who worked for the UC for more than 40 years, as head of the three UC-affiliated national laboratories – Lawrence Berkeley, Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos. White House releases sexual assault report to protect students
The White House released a report Monday outlining guidelines it said universities should adopt when dealing with sexual assault cases. The report, published by the Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault, which President Barack Obama established in January, recommended campuses focus on responding more effectively to incidents of sexual assault.
