Relay for Life participants unite to fight cancer for daylong event

Jairo Madrigal was tired, but he did not let his first day of chemotherapy keep him from participating in this year’s Relay for Life. Rights groups protest animal experimentation at UCLA

About 40 people marched through campus Friday to protest animal experimentation for research. Members of animal rights organization Stop Animal Exploitation Now! and other groups held the demonstration to commemorate World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week and to protest animal research at UCLA. Watts Tutorial Program collaborates to improve playtime for adolescents

UCLA students ran, jumped and giggled as they played a variety of elementary school games on Saturday afternoon. The games were part of a workshop for the tutors of the Watts Tutorial Program, which serves low-income elementary to high school students within the Watts and William Mead areas of Los Angeles.
