USAC gives surplus allocated for initiatives back to student groups

The undergraduate student government gave back about $78,500 in surplus funds Tuesday after more than 100 students protested the council’s allocations at its meeting. Last week, the Undergraduate Students Association Council allocated more than half of its remaining surplus to fund councilmember initiatives – a decision that significantly cut some student group programming funds. Westwood Village aims to promote businesses through social media

The Westwood Village Improvement Association recently added a new staff member to bring businesses and customers to the Village, following years of empty storefronts. The new marketing and communications manager position was filled this year with the aim to draw people to the Village through social media and community outreach, said Andrew Thomas, the executive director of the Westwood Village Improvement Association. Float Lab location to open in Westwood

Students and Westwood residents will soon be able to relax and float in simulated zero gravity chambers at an incoming Westwood business. Float Lab, which allows customers to use their flotation chambers, recently began construction and is going to open in the coming months. Read more...
