On some IDs, age is just a number

Fake identification card in hand and ready to party, Andrew dropped by his usual store to stock up on liquor. “I’ve been using it at this store for a while, and for some reason that night I got a little nervous and I told them I was 24 instead of the 23 age that is actually on my ID, then they went and checked it out,” said Andrew, a second-year UCLA student who declined to give his last name since he continues to use his ID and does not want to get caught engaging in an illegal activity. Empowering women across the globe

At a talk on Thursday night, Molly Melching spoke about her experience working with women in Senegal. Melching, the founder and director of the Tostan Community Empowerment Program, described the lives of many women in Senegal: After working all day, exhausted from carrying heavy bowls on their heads, and finding firewood to cook meals for their families, some Senegalese end their days with an additional two to three hours of education in a classroom. J-Board rules in favor of Park

This week, the pending undergraduate student government Judicial Board case was decided in favor of the respondent, External Vice President Tina Park. The charges were that Park had appointed students to attend conferences without getting them approved by the Undergraduate Students Association Council, which the petitioners ““ Financial Supports Commissioner Shaun Doria and Facilities Commissioner PC Zai ““ allege the bylaws require.
