UC Merced faces opening obstacles

Staff and administrators continue to wait at UC Merced for their pioneer class of students, but due to litigation, postponement of the school’s opening and an uncooperative state budget, the 10th University of California campus is still in its preliminary stages of building and will not house students until fall 2005, a year later than this year’s proposed opening date.
