Breaking news: Regents choose San Diego chancellor as new UC president

The University of California Board of Regents named Robert Dynes, the current chancellor of UC San Diego, as the 18th UC President on Wednesday. Dynes, who was selected after an intense six-month nationwide search, will replace current President Richard Atkinson in October, taking over a UC system during a period of financial uncertainty and substantial growth.
