Robert Hertzberg, Lindsey Horvath vie for LA County Board of Supervisors position

Two candidates for District 3’s Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representative have advanced to the Nov. 8 general election. Candidates Robert Hertzberg – the current California State Senate majority leader emeritus – and Lindsey Horvath – a member of the West Hollywood City Council – received the highest number of votes in the June 7 primary with 31.08% and 27.74% of votes, respectively, according to the LA County Registrar’s Office. UCLA to extend mental health services to community college students

UCLA is expanding access to mental health services for community college students using a new, scalable and cost-effective care system. The National Institute of Mental Health is funding UCLA’s ALACRITY Center through a $12 million five-year grant, said Kate Wolitzky-Taylor, co-director of the program and associate faculty of the Anxiety and Depression Research Center. UCLA students call for return of off-campus meal plans in fall

Students expressed disappointment and concern that UCLA will not be offering an off-campus meal plan for fall. The Bruin Meal Plan enables off-campus students, including those in university apartments, to use on-campus dining halls, according to the UCLA Housing website. Read more...

Ackerman Union adds new dining options ahead of fall quarter

Jamba by Blendid and Epicuria at Ackerman opened this summer at Ackerman Union. Jamba by Blendid is a fully autonomous operating robot extension of Jamba, while Epicuria at Ackerman is a satellite restaurant of the Mediterranean-themed dining hall Epicuria at Covel that opened last fall.
