“Let me see your teeth.” This is what Carlton Green asked 40 kindergarteners early Friday morning. Green, director of nutrition at the UCLA Medical Center’s Nutrition Department, had passed around false teeth to explain to the children ““ some grossed out ““ that if they did not eat right their teeth would look like the decayed teeth they were holding in their hands. New audit finds more suspicious lab costs

The latest federal audit of spending at Los Alamos National Laboratory, released Monday, revealed an additional $14.6 million in “potentially unallowable costs.” The findings came on the same day as the results of an external review conducted by Ernst and Young LLP, which outlined suggestions about how the lab can improve accounting, property management and other procedures.
