Sex Week aims to destigmatize conversations about sex, give space for expression

This post was updated February 27 at 9:38 a.m. After a year’s hiatus, Sex Week returned to UCLA Feb. 10. The annual event devoted to promoting sex positivity on campus was hosted during week six by Sexperts, a committee under the Student Wellness Commission of the Undergraduate Students Association Council working toward educating students on sexual health and wellbeing, and the Health Education and Resource Team (HEART). LASD fails to be transparent about role in police response to encampment

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it sent two squads to back up police who cleared last spring’s Palestine solidarity encampment – but only after an acting captain told the Daily Bruin it hadn’t participated at all. Read more...

USAC commission opens funds to subsidize BruinCard replacement, laundry

The Undergraduate Students Association Council Financial Supports Commission is piloting new funding initiatives to subsidize BruinCard replacements and laundry costs. The commission’s Replacement BruinCard Fund will provide students with a once-per-quarter $10 discount on the $25 BruinCard replacement fee or complete coverage of the $5 fee to exchange an existing BruinCard with a new one. Pro-Israel demonstrators rally in Bruin Plaza in mourning of Israeli hostages

Around 50 pro-Israel demonstrators gathered in Bruin Plaza on Wednesday to raise awareness about Israeli hostages. The event – hosted by the organization Let’s Do Something, which provides equipment and funds for the Israeli military and Israelis affected by war – followed an announcement that three Israeli hostages taken by Palestinian political party and militant group Hamas on Oct.
