Students discuss UC handling of personal information security after cyberattack
Some UCLA students and prospective University of California students expressed uncertainty in the UC’s ability to protect their personal information following a nationwide cybersecurity attack. Hackers stole information from around 100 organizations including universities, government institutions and private companies, along with the UC by exploiting a vulnerability in file transfer company Accellion’s product called the Accellion File Transfer Appliance, UC officials announced in a press release Friday. Metro construction to cause lane closures on Wilshire Boulevard

Black student activists outline demands to address racial inequity in School of Education

UC researchers publish study on how to safely protest amid pandemic
Wearing masks properly can reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 while protesting during the ongoing pandemic, UCLA’s activist-in-residence and researchers said. According to a study published in February led by University of California researchers, a harm reduction approach is a safe way to participate in civil discourse during the COVID-19 pandemic. Elections board presents USAC candidates, amendments and referendum on 2021 ballot
Undergraduate students will vote for about 40 candidates, three constitutional amendments and one referendum in the undergraduate student government election in spring 2021. Alfred Tun, Undergraduate Students Association Elections Board chair and fourth-year economics and political science student, presented the spring election ballot at the Undergraduate Students Association Council meeting Tuesday.
