Broxton Brewery & Public House leaves Westwood Village after 7 years

The brewery – which opened its doors on the corner of Broxton Avenue and Westwood Boulevard in 2018 – specialized in craft beers, innovative cocktails and comfort food, according to its website. Epicuria at Ackerman temporarily closes due to grease trap clog

Epicuria at Ackerman temporarily closed Wednesday – and will reopen next week – after a grease trap in the building clogged, UCLA Housing said. The restaurant – located in Ackerman Union – had to shut down its water service amid repairs related to the clog, affecting the kitchen’s ability to operate safely and in accordance with health and sanitation standards, UCLA Housing said in a Wednesday statement. Former UCLA EDI official says he was terminated over Charlie Kirk posts

This post was updated Jan. 14 at 9:31 a.m. An official in UCLA’s office of equity, diversity and inclusion said UCLA fired him Monday over social media posts in which he expressed satisfaction about the murder of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk.  UCLA put Johnathan Perkins, the EDI office’s former director of race and equity, on investigatory leave in September after he posted comments in which he appeared to celebrate Kirk’s death on the social media platform Bluesky.
