Residents may lack neighborhood council representation in interim before election

Locals in some parts of Westwood will have to wait at least a month to receive representation on a neighborhood council. New makerspace will enable students to dabble in engineering projects

UCLA students can build electronic skateboards, a robot that plays the piano and other electronics at a new engineering makerspace. The makerspace, which will open in Boelter Hall on Wednesday, will have 3D printers, laser cutters, power tools, electronic fabrication and a virtual reality station, among other equipment. New automatic online voter registration system introduced at UCLA

UCLA is one of the first universities in the nation to offer automatic and completely online voter registration to its students. MyUCLA will autofill a California voter registration form with each eligible student’s name and information and send it to the California Secretary of State’s office beginning in fall quarter. Study finds UCLA’s economic impact of over $11 billion in California

A study found that UCLA generated over $11 billion in economic activity over the 2016-17 fiscal year. Beacon Economics consultancy, an independent consulting firm that conducts economic analyses, published the 2018 UCLA Economic Impact Report, finding that UCLA generated $11.06 billion in economic activity, which considers employment, labor income, taxation and product output.
