Research suggests colleges mainly recruit from white, affluent schools
Universities in the United States tend to conduct their off-campus recruiting visits at primarily white and affluent high schools, according to research published April 13. Researchers from UCLA and the University of Arizona published their study, “The Off-Campus Recruiting Research Project,” on college recruiting and the demographics of the high schools recruiters choose to visit in The New York Times. Broxton Avenue proposed to turn into pedestrian-only area for events
Westwood officials approved a plan Thursday to transform a portion of Broxton Avenue into a pedestrian-friendly plaza for community events. The Westwood Village Improvement Association Board of Directors approved a proposal to apply for the People St program, which allows the city to transform a road into a pedestrian space for community events. Employee union unable to reach contract agreements with UC
