Trial to begin in lawsuit filed by UCLA lecturer against administrators

A UCLA lecturer suing UC administrators for over $22 million will see his case go to trial Tuesday. Gordon Klein, a continuing lecturer in accounting, filed a lawsuit against Antonio Bernardo, the dean of the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and the UC Board of Regents in September 2021. UCLA climatologist Marilyn Raphael elected to National Academy of Sciences

Marilyn Raphael is a leading scientist in Antarctic climate and ocean atmospheric interactions around Antarctica, said Laura Landrum, a project scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Department of Justice opens investigation for alleged UC employment discrimination

One person arrested for weapons possession near Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center

The UCLA Police Department arrested one person for the possession of weapons near the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center following a domestic violence incident Wednesday. The suspect possessed a gun and multiple illegal knives that UCPD recovered upon apprehending the suspect, according to a UCPD Instagram post. Read more...

UCLA DataX panel experts review technological influence on human rights, democracy

Students and faculty discussed how technological developments impact human rights and democracy at the DataX Impact Forum in May. The event – titled “Beyond Broligarchy: The Fight for a Better Future” – featured an hour-long conversation between Cory Doctorow, a journalist and science fiction author, and Ramesh Srinivasan, a professor at the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies.
