UCLA researchers find a way to repair nerve damage with stem cells

UCLA researchers have developed a way to use stem cells to help potentially rebuild damaged spinal cords. In a study published in January, researchers in the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research established a way to derive sensory interneurons, which are cells involved in reflexes and relaying sensory information to the brain, from stem cells. UCLA implements campus safety precautions proposed by task force

UCLA has enacted recommendations proposed by a task force in 2016 to improve the campus’ safety preparedness procedures and emergency notification systems. Campus Safety Task Force, which was established after a murder-suicide on campus in June 2016, has helped the campus make various improvements to its emergency preparation procedures. Read more...

Westwood bars see increase of students after alcohol ban at fraternity parties
