Gov. Brown proposes holding funds for UC until audit suggestions are met

UCLA research helps expand use of drug to treat liver cancer

UCLA researchers helped test the first drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat liver cancer in 10 years. They found through clinical trials that the drug, regorafenib, increased overall liver cancer patient survival period from a median of 7.8 months to 10.6 months. Read more...

EDI office to accept applications for student advisory board

Vice Chancellor Jerry Kang is looking for three to five more students to the advise his office on campus climate issues. Kang announced in an email to students Friday that the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion will be accepting applications to serve on its student advisory board for the next academic year. UCLA officials and David Geffen dedicated Geffen Hall on Thursday afternoon at an event attended by 200 medical students, faculty and guests. Geffen, an entertainment executive and philanthropist, donated $200 million to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and created a $100 million scholarship fund for incoming medical students.
