USAC candidate sanctioned for premature campaigning with Facebook page

The undergraduate student government election board sanctioned a candidate Friday for prematurely creating a Facebook page about her campaign. The board determined that Sayron Stokes, an independent candidate running for the transfer student representative position, violated conduct regulations by creating a page called “Sayron Stokes for UCLA USAC Transfer Representative” before social media campaigning was allowed. UCLA law school receives $20M donation to create human rights institute

The UCLA School of Law received a $20 million donation to form a new human rights institute, officials announced Monday. Producers of “The Promise,” a film about the Armenian genocide, will donate part of the film’s proceeds to launch the Promise Institute for Human Rights. Read more...

Career Center opens ambassador program to link students to internships

A newly launched student ambassador program aims to connect undergraduates with more internship opportunities.
