Funds from Social Justice Referendum help fortify food closet program

The Community Programs Office Food Closet was able to expand its food options last year after receiving additional funds from a student fee referendum. The CPO used funding from the Social Justice Referendum of 2016 to create the boxed food program, which provides students with prepackaged food during the holiday season, to address food insecurity on campus. Science Policy Group at UCLA offers avenue for research-based advocacy

Current and former UCLA doctoral students founded a group to advocate for more scientific input in public policy. The Science Policy Group at UCLA, created in May, held a kickoff event last month that saw around 25 attendees, said Jennifer Tribble, co-founder of the group and a doctoral student in neuroscience. 7-Eleven opens new location in Westwood, caters to UCLA community

Westwood Village’s latest store is serving up Slurpees and hot dogs. 7-Eleven opened a new store on Westwood Boulevard and Weyburn Avenue on Thursday. The orange, green and red stripes of the convenience store now wrap the previously unoccupied clock tower building in the Village. Read more...
