UCLA researchers are developing a new treatment for patients with anorexia nervosa to help change the way they see their bodies. UCLA researchers found a way to study an individual’s neural activity to predict how they would act in a moral dilemma. In a study published last month, researchers at the Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center observed that a person’s neural activity in response to witnessing another person in pain may indicate whether they would inflict harm if it led to a greater good, according to a press release. UCLA activists are calling on major fast food chains to improve the safety and sustainability of the meat they serve. Students at the UCLA chapter of the California Public Interest Research Group, an advocacy group, traveled to In-N-Out Burger’s Irvine headquarters Saturday to deliver 82 petitions calling on the fast food chain to reduce the use of antibiotics in its food.
