LA County municipal elections see reduced voter turnout rate
About 6 percent of registered voters in Westwood and on campus voted in Los Angeles County municipal elections Tuesday. Out of 13,081 registered voters on campus, the Hill, the North Village and Westwood Village, only 810 cast ballots. Read more...

All four graduate student government candidates will run unopposed

International grad students fear political climate will hamper job outlook
Some international graduate students at UCLA are concerned the current political climate may negatively affect their career prospects. Ioan Istrate, the Graduate Students Association vice president of internal affairs, said he thinks there is a higher standard for international students when getting jobs, but the difficulty has intensified in the months following President Donald Trump’s election. USAC ad hoc committee looks to increase student representation
A committee trying to reform the undergraduate student government to include underrepresented communities held its first meeting Tuesday night. The ad hoc committee, which aims to discuss ways to increase student representation in the Undergraduate Students Association Council, is meant to consist of several USAC representatives and a student focus group.
