USAC Facilities Commission reveals sustainability, funding initiatives in report

The Undergraduate Students Association Council’s Facilities Commission revealed multiple upcoming sustainability projects to provide transparency to the student body in its fall 2022 transparency report. USAC funding delays increase stress, workload for student organization members

Funding delays from the Undergraduate Students Association Council have impeded event planning and increased stress for student organization leaders. Student organizations can apply to receive funding from among 15 different USAC funds, according to the USAC website. Read more...

USAC to select new transfer student representative after position vacancy

Undergraduate Student Association Council Transfer Student Representative Teddy Moreno resigned Jan. 5, leaving an opening for the spot to be filled by Jan. 26. In an emailed statement to the USAC Office of the President, Moreno, a former fourth-year anthropology transfer student, said he resigned due to his decision to withdraw from UCLA. Read more...

USAC calls for resignation of LA city council members caught on racist recording

The Undergraduate Students Association Council passed a resolution Oct. 18 calling on multiple Los Angeles city council members to resign. Council president Nury Martinez and councilmembers Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo made racist and homophobic remarks about other council members, LA District Attorney George Gascón and the child of a council member in a leaked recording, according to the LA Times.
