UC, California Nurses Association reach four-year agreement on nurse contracts

The California Nurses Association decided Monday to approve a four-year contract to increase salaries after almost two years of negotiation with the University of California. UC will update Native American repatriation policies in accordance with AB 2836

The University of California will adapt its repatriation policies for Native American cultural property found on UC campuses to increase transparency and communication. Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 2836, which aims to improve the UC’s repatriation procedures, into law Thursday. Read more...

Librarians, allies demonstrate for academic freedom amid UCOP negotiations

University of California librarians and their allies marched across campus Wednesday with their mouths taped shut in support of academic freedom for librarians. University Council-American Federation of Teachers, a union that represents UC librarians and non-Senate faculty, held the demonstration during their lunch break between contract negotiation sessions with the University of California Office of the President.
