Labor unions voice their concerns on the UC’s proposed curtailment policy

UC Student Association campaigns to double the Pell Grant maximum

The association that represents University of California students is calling on President Joe Biden’s administration to double the Pell Grant to make college more affordable. The UC Student Association has met with federal representatives, nonprofit leaders and mobilized UC students to advocate for its Double the Pell campaign since the association initiated the campaign in August, said Joshua Lewis, the UCSA government relations chair and a student at UC Berkeley. New UC-wide Punjabi course allows students to connect with their culture

CALPIRG leads push for UC-wide open textbooks grant plan

University of California students and faculty are asking the UC Board of Regents to fund a systemwide open textbook grant program. The California Public Interest Research Group, a student activist organization, began a textbook affordability campaign in 2007 after other student PIRGs started similar campaigns. Read more...
