UC no longer has direct access to publications on Elsevier

This post was updated July 14 at 4:21 p.m. The University of California lost access to the world’s largest scientific publisher Wednesday. Elsevier, which provides access to over 2,500 journals, had been negotiating with the UC’s California Digital Library since early this year to provide UC students and researchers with access to its content. UCLA named a top-50 university globally in two recent rankings

UCLA was named among the world’s best universities for research and academia in two separate rankings last week. Nature, a scientific journal, named all 10 of the UC’s campuses and its three affiliated national laboratories in the top 500 institutions that influenced research in natural sciences last year.
