The University of California will continue to manage the Los Alamos National Laboratory alongside two new partners. The U.S. Department of Energy awarded a decade-long, $25 billion contract to the new Triad National Security LLC, formed by the UC, Texas A&M University and Battelle Memorial Institute in June. A new University of California advisory board is addressing shortcomings relating to sexual violence across UC campuses. The Title IX Student Advisory Board, which was created in January, consists of one undergraduate and one graduate representative from each UC campus, except UC San Francisco, which has one graduate representative. The Times Higher Education published their World Reputation Rankings for 2018 on Wednesday, which ranked UCLA ninth in the world among 100 universities, an increase from 13th last year. Read more...
