WWNC claims unfair treatment from Department of Neighborhood Empowerment

The Westwood Neighborhood Council issued Wednesday a vote of no confidence against the Los Angeles department that oversees neighborhood councils. LA Metro Purple Line Subway Extension enters preconstruction stage

Metro contractors began preconstruction in Westwood for the LA Metro Purple Line Subway Extension this week. Workers began relocating utility lines and sawing and potholing areas covering Section 3, the part of the Purple Line that covers Wilshire and Westwood boulevards, on Monday. Read more...

VA West LA campus designates 10 safe parking spots for homeless veterans

Homeless veterans who live in their cars now have access to 10 safe parking spaces at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs West Los Angeles campus. This is a first step in the VA’s larger initiative to address homelessness, which includes the construction of 110 housing units by 2020 and 1,200 total units to be built on the VA’s West LA campus. VA looks to move forward on West LA plan for housing homeless veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to build more than 1,000 housing units at its West Los Angeles campus.
