Westwood Boulevard sidewalks to be repaired as part of initiative
Pedestrians will soon be able to walk on newly paved sidewalks on Westwood Boulevard. Sidewalks in need of repair on the west side of Westwood Boulevard, between Le Conte and Weyburn avenues, will undergo reconstruction from May 8 to May 26. Read more...

Graduate student housing opportunities to grow
Graduate students may get more housing opportunities in a few years, after UCLA administrators decided to change their proposal for new housing projects. Community experts debate county’s proposals for reducing homelessness
UCLA experts and community leaders have opposing views on the effectiveness of strategies Los Angeles County is considering to combat homelessness. The county is discussing Thursday its 2017-2018 budget proposal and how it will allocate revenue from Measure H, a measure that implemented a .25 percent sales tax to fund homeless services. American Apparel in Westwood Village closes
The clothing manufacturer American Apparel closed its Westwood location Wednesday. The company, which gained popularity with its “Made in USA – Sweatshop Free” policy, provocative advertising campaigns and simple designs, filed for bankruptcy in 2015. Read more...
